This postcard depicts a street festooned for the visit of the Prince Edward of Wales to Singapore in 1922. The buildings are bedecked with bunting. This visit to Singapore was part of an eight-month Eastern tour the prince took from 1921 t o1922, during which he also visited India, Malaya, Hong Kong and Japan. This trip enabled a comprehensive survey of the social and political situation in various parts of Asia that had close links with the British Empire.
