This postcard depicts Orchard Road in the early 1900s, a far cry from its bustling and built up streets now. This postcard shows a wide road with little traffic, a mix of cars, horse carts and rickshaws. There are clothes hung from the windows, suggesting that the street was a place people lived. On the left there is a shop, perhaps selling whisky, called ‘White House’.
