Lady Sophia Raffles was the wife of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, having married him in 1817. This letter is part of a collection of letters written by her to the Revd Thomas Raffles, who was her husband’s cousin. In it, Lady Raffles mentions having sent a copy of her newly published Memoir of the Life and Public Services of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles to Revd Raffles, and updates him on her plan to travel to Geneva.
