Every returning British POW held by the Japanese received one of these printed letters from King George VI, which bids them 'a very warm welcome home' and recognises the 'suffering' which they have undergone. The King hopes that the POWs' 'return from captivity' will bring them and their families 'a full measure of happiness'.
