Albert Riley, who held the rank of Private in the 196 Field Ambulance unit (part of the Royal Army Medical Corps), was on board the American troopship, the USS Joseph T Dickman between 7 Nov 1941 and 27 December 1941. Together with his mates, he celebrated Christmas on the ship. This menu shows the food served to the troopship's passengers during the Christmas celebration in 1941. The journey on the USS Joseph T Dickman ended in Bombay, India for the 196 Field Ambulance unit, which boarded another American troopship and arrived in Singapore on 29 January 1941.
