Gift of the Lim Family in memory of Edna Chong Kim Neo
Known as pidangan, this is a frame which was used to hold the fabric taut while embroidering with beads. The pidangans used by the Peranakans shared many similarities with the frames used by the Malays for embroidery. This belonged to Chong Kim Neo (1916-1972), who made beaded slippers and garments from her home as she did not own a shop.
