Angsana Tree, Hindhede RoadChristopher Peh, 46, financial plannerIn the 60s and 70s, Mr Peh lived in a house in Hindhede Road, at the foot of BukitTimah Hill, which was a row of private houses that allegedly used to be occupied byJapanese expats. His family moved out of the place in 1996, and all the houses havesince been demolished.The only thing surviving from that era is an old Angsana tree, which had served as amarker between his village and Kampung Quarry, an old Malay village.
