A pair of slipper faces is drawn on this piece of counted thread canvas. Curving blades of leaf flank a bird in mid-flight. The bold lines suggest that the drawing was executed by an experienced hand. Characterised by evenly spaced warp and weft, counted thread canvas was used to adapt designs originally made for silk embroidery for beadwork
