East India House, Leadenhall Street

East India House on Leadenhall Street was formerly Craven House, when it was acquired by the East India Company in 1648 for use as its headquarters in London. This print shows the East India House after remodelling and extension of its frontage was completed by the end of the 18th century. The engraving was based on a drawing by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd (1792-1864), an English topographical artist.
