Gift of Mr John Koh, in memory of his grandfather Mr Koh Hoon Teck

This diary is inscribed with Koh Hoon Teck’s name on the cover and it documents every family member (their names in English, Chinese and Baba Malay). The diary is an important record of his family genealogy. Koh Hoon Teck was very musical and he played the violin. In his youth, was also one of four key members of the Cornwall Minstrels formed in 1904. Koh was also founder of his company, Koh & Co. in 1905 which sold books, stationary, rubber stamp markers, printers, gramophone records, and coloured postcards of scenes of Singapore. In 1910, he founded the Gunong Sayang Association, a Peranakan musical and theatrical organization.
