This personal photograph album belonged to a Royal Navy subordinate officer, and contains photographs related to the Royal Navy’s and Army’s presence in Singapore in the 1920s, including the presentation of colours to the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Sussex Regiment at Tanglin Barracks in 1924. Also included are photographs of the official opening of the Johore Causeway, and the laying of the foundation stone of the Union Jack Club, also in 1924. Straits Settlements Governor Laurence Guillemard appears in a number of the photographs.
