The Tang Shipwreck was acquired through the generous donation of the Estate of Khoo Teck Puat.

Such bottles were probably used as wine containers. The lugs at the side may have been for attaching a strap or for fastening the stopper. The bottle is decorated on each side with a flower with lush petals and leaves. Most of the glaze has already degraded on this vessel except for a few glossy olive-green patches that hint at its original lustre.
