This is a childhood photograph of Mrs.Amena bai Sk Hatim bhai Nakhoda taken in pre-World War II Singapore. She is seen wearing traditional Bohri attire including a jhabala or tunic and topi or cap. She is the wife of Mr. Hatim Nakhoda, who is among the oldest living members of Singapore’s Dawoodi Bohra community. His father, Mr. Fida Husein Mohammedali Nakhoda was a Justice of Peace, and community leader. He was the co-founder of F.M.Noordin & Co, one of the oldest Bohri commodities trading company, established 1895.
