Mr. Hatim Nakhoda is among the oldest living members of Singapore’s Dawoodi Bohra community. His father, Mr. Fida Husein Mohammedali Nakhoda was a Justice of Peace, and community leader. He was the co-founder of F.M.Noordin & Co, one of the oldest Bohri commodities trading company, established 1895. This is a photograph of Mr.Nakhoda taken in pre-World War II Singapore. He is seen wearing a traditional topi or hat.
