These photos document a past landscape no longer visible nor imaginable. They are part of the largest existing collection of work by a Singaporean photographer from the period and range from early kampong and fishing scenes to cityscapes and portraits. As a body of work, these prints show Yip’s technical skills, his ability to capture the moment, and his wide ranging interests. They are excellent examples of salon style photography of the period.
