This display frame contains medals and a Police Force cap badge that belonged to George Edward Devonshire. He was Assistance Superintendent of the Federated Malay States Police Force when he was killed during the war in February 1942, and a scroll that commemorates his sacrifice is also contained in the frame. Devonshire was a Chinese-speaking Special Branch officer who, together with Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Innes Tremlett of Force 136, had persuaded Lai Teck to become a double agent, after which Devonshire became one of Lai Teck’s handlers.
