The two photographs show Mr Swaminathan Stephens Rahjan with the armour unit at the Sembawang base camp. In the first photograph, Mr Swaminathan is standing in the second row, 7th from the left, and in the second photograph, Mr Swaminathan is standing in the second row, 4th from the right.Mr Swaminathan was born in Singapore in 1952. He was the third generation of a family who had originally arrived from India. Mr Swaminathan served with the armour unit during his National Service in the 1970s. Mr Swaminathan joined the Customs and Excise Department (CED), which later became the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), after his National Service. His career with CED and ICA spanned a total of 40 years.
