This man’s wedding ‘baju’ or tunic is tailored from black European velvet lined with machine made gold brocade and embroidered with gold thread florette. It demonstrates the strong influence of European style dress, particularly dress military uniforms which were contemporary to the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
