This blue four-tiered food container, known as a tiffin carrier or tingkat, was used to store and transport food. It is made of metal coated with vitreous enamel, a smooth, durable layer of glass fused to the surface at high temperatures. The lid and individual tiers are decorated with flowers and foliage.
