Raffles Hotel is a colonial-style hotel named after Singapore’s founder Sir Stamford Raffles. The Sarkies Brothers converted the luxury hotel from a ten-room bungalow owned by the Alsagoff family. Illustrious figures, including Joseph Conrad and Rudyard Kipling, counted among some of Raffles Hotel's earliest guests.
