This dictionary outline belonged to Australian POW Lieutenant G.D. Lee, who was taken prisoner by the Japanese after the battle for Singapore. He compiled a handwritten English-Japanese dictionary using a Singapore Golf Club accounts book from March 1942. The dictionary consisted of words used in daily life, as well terms defining the ranks of the Japanese army.
