This is a Malay translation of the power of attorney granted by Salleh bin Taib bin Ali bin Ahmed Altui Ba Salamah, published on 29 May 1915 and written by an unnamed writer in Shibam on his behalf. It was issued to the sons of Hadi bin Ali bin Ahmed Altui Ba Salamah, Mahfooth bin Ali bin Ahmed Altui Ba Salamah, Omar, and Sallim, as well as the sons of Ahmed bin Ali bin Ahmed Altui Ba Salamah, Abdullah and Ali. They were authorized to hold, look after, and keep all the share to which Salleh bin Taib was entitled to as one of the heirs in the estate of his brother, Abdul Rahman bin Taib bin Ali bin Ahmed Altui Ba Salamah, who died in Shibam, Hadhramaut on 14 May 1915. Salleh bin Taib was entitled to one fourth of the share of all the estate owned by Abdul Rahman in Shibam and Mukalla, consisting of houses and immovable assets such as plantations and date trees, as well as movable property such as cash and outstanding debts. Salleh was also included in his brother’s share of the property in Singapore, comprising of houses No. 178 at Rochor Road, No. 92 at Arab Street, No. 17 at Chin Chew Street, and No. 177 at Rochor Road, some of which were held in partnership with Salleh or the heirs of Ali bin Taib. This power of attorney was sealed with the seal of the Cadi of Sayoom and translated from Arabic into Malay by Shaik Awad Saidan of No.16 Raffles Quay, Singapore on 18 September 1916.
