This olive green vessel is a wine warmer that comes with a cup. It has matching panels of pheonix and floral motifs on the lid and body. Hot water is poured into the vessel to warm the cup placed inside, in preparation for drinking rice wine. The practice of drinking from such cups was not a frequent event in a Peranakan home as many older Peranakans today have no recollection of using wine warmers.
