This is a repoussé sheet ear ornament in the shape of a seven-pointed star. It is also decorated with granulation. Unlike the preceding period that used gold for grave offering, gold was fashioned into personal adornment in this period. Ear ornaments of this period usually came in the shape of an open oval or a loop. This period also saw the beginning of using heat to work gold and the use of techniques like casting and soldering. Such was the sophistication of the techniques that it is possible that gold working had become a specialised occupation by this time.
