Symmetrical ear ornament in form of a 5 pointed star

The five-point star pre-classical ear ornament displayed here is a representative sample of the many styles of ear ornaments known to have come from the Proto-Classic period (3rd-8th centuries). They come in shapes of open oval or a loop and vary from simple gold bars to circlets of soldered gold discs and more complex star shapes. Some Southeast Asian societies continue to create jewellery that of identical or similar in style. The Proto-Classic period was an important period in the development of gold-working techniques in Southeast Asia. It was during this time that Southeast Asia began using heat to work gold and used techniques such as casting and soldering.
