This figurine depicts Sister Aqing (Aqing sao), the brave and resourceful female lead in Shajiabang. The story set during the Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945), tells of Sister Aqing (a tea shop owner) hiding wounded Communist soldiers. The classic portrayal of her in an apron hides her secret identity as an underground Communist party member.
