Armorial dish

Decorated in enamels and gold, this large armorial dish has a coat-of-arms and coronet set against a dense background filled with white enamelled floral scrolls. The arms belong to two Dutch families, the Van Schoonhoven of Leyden and Rotterdam, and the Cremers of Groningen. Designs were sent to Jingdezhen to be copied as early as the 18th century.
