Portrait of Lim Kim San

This is a portrait of Mr Lim Kim San at his desk with a view of the Singapore skyline outside the window. Mr Lim was the first Chairman of the Housing and Development Board (HDB), and he was best known for his contributions in housing the population of Singapore in the 1960s. During his public service career, he held ministerial positions in various ministries from finance, education, defence to environment. The artist who painted this portrait is Mr Chua Mia Tee. He is one of Singapore’s foremost painters in the realist style during the 1970s.
