This white-glazed amphora has a tapered form and handles in the shape of dragon heads ('shuang long zun') biting into the rim. This type of vessel is thought to take its inspiration from West Asia metalware ewers.Dragon handles of this type were typical of the Tang dynasty (618-906), and were later also produced during the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) in vessels of different sizes.
