This clay charcoal stove was commonly used by street hawkers to cook ‘char kway teow’ (fried flat noodles). The clay stove is encased in metal, which enables it to trap heat and cook food quickly. Charcoal was fed through the small opening at the side of the stove, with the holes on the top acting as burners.
