The 'pawukon' or divination manuscript is used to determine the auspicious dates in the Javanese calendar for important undertakings. The Javanese calendar has thirty 7 day cycles (wuku) to make up a 210 day year and is probably based on the agricultural cycle.The Javanese today still consult such divination manuscripts for their horoscope and also to set their important activities.
