This is a photograph of a display of preserved Christmas Island birds at Raffles Museum. The Raffles Museum was a result of Thomas Stamford Raffles' idea of establishing a museum for Singapore to preserve the cultural heritage of Southeast Asia. It was thus named Raffles Museum after the founder. This bird display as part of the zoological collection is found today at the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research in the National University of Singapore.
