The motif exhort the working class to participate in "Grasp revolution, promote production" and use pens as weapons to defeat “class enemies”. Aggression was encouraged by such images on various types of propaganda material such as this porcelain teapot. Two other slogans, "Revolutionary great criticism" (see 1997-04838) and "Struggle against selfishness and repudiate revisionism"(see 1997-04845) have also been included. The latter slogan came about in 1966 after the central authorities grew concerned that workers’ involvement in revolutionary activities was affecting their economic productivity.
