‘After A Day’ by Yeo Chee Kiong

Yeo Chee Kiong is a Singapore sculptor who was trained at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and the Glasgow School of Art. Yeo won the Grand Prize in the inaugural Asian Pacific Breweries (APB) Foundation Signature Art Prize for his work, ‘A Day Without A Tree’, which was done under the National Museum of Singapore’s Art-On-Site programme. Only three objects were saved at the end of the show as it was too costly to preserve and maintain the complete art piece. Two of the saved objects were used to craft this particular sculpture, which was created by Yeo to document the site-specific project. It was donated to the National Museum of Singapore to thank the institution for making the win possible.
