This globular 'sancai' ('three-colour ware') jar has a streaky lead glaze that comprises a splash of green on yellow glaze.The three-colour technique grew out of the monochrome lead glazes of the Han dynasty (206 BCE-220CE). This type of glaze includes various shades of brown, blue, green and cream which were combined or used on their own.
