This cotton Hmong indigo baby-carrier features geometric batik design decorated with embroidery and an indigo-dyed batik centre panel. The red wool pompoms arranged to form two crosses probably served as a protective talisman against evil spirits.Originally highlanders from China, the Hmong recently have begun to move into northern areas of Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.
