This baby carrier is made from commercially printed cloth with motifs of the Japanese cartoon character Doraemon. The cross-stitch embroidery on the centre-field and upper panel complement the colours of the commercial fabric. The upper section of the carrier has motifs probably associated with protection for the baby. This is a good example of how remote communities have absorbed external influences. The Hmong is an ethnic minority group who migrated into Thailand from China and Laos during the 18th and 19th centuries.
