This small, cylindrical steamer has a simple design, that was used for steaming rice cakes. The sides are constructed with a strip of broad bamboo tied with rattan at the end. The rims of both the cover and the box are braided. The box is also covered with vermillion applied thinly so the weave is visible. There is no lacquering on the steaming tray within.
