This basket is a rare carrying basket. It is elaborately carved with decorative features and has a group of three crucifixes carved on the wooden base. This indicates it was probably the property of a Christian. Objects with Christian iconography in island Southeast Asia are extremely rare and particularly on Lombok, where the majority of the populace are Muslim.
