Heritage Activation Node at Mountbatten (HAN@Mountbatten) is a collaborative effort between the National Heritage Board and Arts House Group, anchored at Goodman Arts Centre. Located in the culturally rich Mountbatten district, this node celebrates the neighbourhood's transformation from seaside kampong to today's vibrant community, where traditional shophouses stand alongside modern developments and heritage businesses continue to thrive.
Operating under the banner of "Stories We Share", HAN@Mountbatten takes a community-driven approach to unearthing and celebrating the lesser-known histories of Mountbatten through its architecture, hawker culture, and lived experiences. The initiative empowers residents to lead heritage documentation projects, with artists serving as creative facilitators. Through community heritage art collaborations, these projects will enable residents to share and celebrate the stories of their neighbourhood, and bring heritage to everyday spaces.
Journey through Mountbatten's stories of transformation and discover how residents are actively documenting and sharing their neighbourhood's evolution whilst preserving its community spirit and unique heritage touchpoints!
This community mural brings together the places, people, food, nature and familiar sights that shape the Mountbatten neighbourhood.
