The nativity set with Chinese architectural features and stylistic elements was originally designed by one of Tay Guan Heng’s third-generation owners, Amos Tay. He referred to the images of Chinese deities, which he had great familiarity with, in his creation of the figures in the Nativity set. The nativity set was one of the innovative creations made by Tay Guan Heng as they diversified their products to cater to new clients (the Singapore expatriate community) and to remain competitive.
