This albumen silver photographic print shows a Chinese Peranakan bride and groom in traditional wedding attire. It was taken in Surabaya, Java, around 1900. This comes from a large group of photographs that provide important visual documentation of the fashion, studio photography, and lifestyles of Peranakans in the Straits Settlements and Indonesia in the late 19th through mid-20th century.
