This child’s bib comprises a patchwork design that is reminiscent of the European style patchwork that was popular at the time. The general motifs on this piece are checked triangles of varying colours, some in green, orange and brown. These form a kaleidoscope of colours in a regular geometric pattern of triangles and squares. This piece was made by sewing together pieces of batik fabric discarded from a baju panjang (long tunic).
