This porcelain bowl has a considerable part of its body broken and missing. With a thin band of reddish-hue around its rim, this shard is covered with a pristine white glaze, characteristic of Dehua porcelain. Dehua porcelain is better known in the West as blanc-de-chine porcelain, which rose to international significance around the 17th century. Its popularity at home and abroad continued and the kilns at Dehua remain prolific to this day.
