One of the early roads that was developed in Singapore during the late 1820s, Battery Road was built as the link between Commercial Square and the battery, Fort Fullerton. On the left of this postcard lies the studio of G. R. Lambert & Co., the leading portrait studio and official photographer for all major political events in Singapore during the late 19th and early 20th century.
