This is a silver hair ornament incised with little circular and curve marks, and it was worn on the hair for decorative purposes. In Timor, metal jewellery and head ornaments are given during marriage alliance exchanges. Not all communities in Timor possess the technology of silversmithing. They depend on other groups in Timor or other islands in the Lesser Sunda Straits for their jewellery.
