This stoneware bottle has a bulbous body, an everted rolled mouthrim and a tall ribbed neck. It is covered with a pale green glaze.Possibly exported during the Northern Song period (960-1126), this bottle is typical of the early trade wares found in Southeast Asia, especially the Philippines and Indonesia. Chinese ceramics were highly prized in these regions as ceramics of the same quality could not be produced locally.
