This is a photograph of guests attending the wedding dinner reception of Quah Chin Siong, Danny and Soh Beow Seng, Nancy, on 21 September 1975. The occasion was hosted at the family bungalow on 4 Walton Road belonging to Danny's grandfather Quah Chin Lai, a prominent Chinese metal and machnary hardware tycoon. This image is part of a set of documents, including postcards, greeting cards and photographs, recording memories of the couple during their courtship, leading up to their wedding ceremony. Collectively, the items chronicle events in the relationship trajectory of a middle class couple in the 1970s, at the same time shining light into the family lives of one of Singapore’s early Chinese business trailblazers and his descendant.
