This is a postcard of the Eiffel Tower addressed to Mr Quah Chin Siong, Danny, from his to-be wife Mdm Soh Beow Seng, Nancy, during her trip to France in 1974. Nancy Soh spent majority of her career as a flight operator with SIA -- a job which required her to travel frequently. Upon completing her 'O' Level exams, she took on further studies in computing and eventually became hired as one of the first batches of flight operators in SIA.This postcard is part of a set of documents, including birthday cards and photographs, recording exchanges between the couple during their courtship, leading up to their wedding ceremony. Collectively, the items chronicle events in the relationship trajectory of a middle class couple in the 1970s, at the same time shining light into the family lives of one of Singapore’s early Chinese business trailblazers -- Quah Chin Lai, and his grandson Quah Chin Siong.
