Set of three joss sticks with auspicious motifs and phrases

This set is an example of three-feet high joss sticks that were produced by Tay Guan Heng, the only manufacturer of large hand-crafted joss sticks in Singapore when it ceased operations in December 2022. The joss sticks show some of the generic designs created by the shop. Joss sticks with generic designs could be purchased by different clients and used on multiple occasions including as offerings during the seventh lunar month. In Singapore, the pineapple is regarded as symbol of prosperity. The desire to be blessed with an abundance of wealth is underscored by the other decorative elements on the joss sticks -- copper cash coins, an ingot, and the phrase ‘cai yuan guang jin’ 财源广进 (may plenty of wealth flow in).
